ynite jogging. things have changed, again. and they will, they will persist to stripe my familiar neighbourhood to don a whole new concrete cold facade to fit their ideal. yes the UOB godown signboard. the word that kept me wondering if it was peiced together to form a word bearing the meanings of the original words, would it have originated from god own, or go down. i do find them pretty starking in meaning: lifts u up, to peace or down the abyss. aye. i feel rather stalker-ish aye....visited wf's blog n apparently she was taking a walk along tt area too. aye...ryl did mention tt she was once my partner in class or sth aye? wad has happened?we did see her outside mpsh din we. aye pple has came and left mercilessly but who will stay. anyways, i like the way she describes stuff! hahaha here itis!
today i walked past the old uob godowns in the quiet part of clarke quay again. i must have walked past it a million times, it only caught my attention once-- the first time i saw it shambly rambly bricks and shutters, and today, partly because i just did my readings on how these godowns housed the first indian convicts on singapore soil, and partly because right next to it a whole row of spanking new black and red shophouses had been erected, pulled out from the soil like magik. on the other side more construction work, a skinny aluminium fence protecting the godown's right to exist in all it's rambly shambly glory.
